Application of diode laser with photobiomodulation in the excision of giant cell fibroma: A case report

Giant cell fibroma is relatively new and rare entity, commonly seen in gingiva. It a benign non-neoplastic lesion of oral cavity. manifests clinically as slow-growing, asymptomatic, sessile or pedunculated mass with maximum diameter 0.5 to 1 cm. These lesions occurs young individuals have no sex predilection. Histopathological findings giant show presence the stellate fibroblasts multinucleated cells. This report case fibroma, occuring on right buccal mucosa 14 year old female patient. Surgical excision was planned using diode laser followed by photo-biomodulation. Post surgically healing satisfactory, significant scar tissue formation follow up showed recurrence lesion.
